President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said, “We had emphasized two hundred names in the prisoner exchange. We have all of these two hundred names. They are all our guests, under our control, and one of them was a name that Mr. Putin insisted on. We sent this name to Russia.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan left his residence in Kısıklı at noon and came to Hz. Ali Mosque in Üsküdar. Erdoğan made a statement after performing the Friday prayer.
In response to a question about the Russia-Ukraine war and prisoner swap, President Erdoğan said, “In this step we have taken regarding the Russia-Ukraine war, of course, the primary grain corridor issue. Then, in the process related to the prisoner swap, which we started initiatives, there were departures from a grain corridor exceeding four million tons. It is still going on. One of our important steps here is the grain coming from Russia. So far, it is mostly Ukraine. Now, as soon as we start Russia, the most important issue is the fertilizer transfer. As soon as we start this, especially to poor countries, underdeveloped countries, this fertilizer transfer will seriously stimulate them. The issue we insisted on here was the prisoner exchange. We emphasized two hundred names in the prisoner exchange. We have all of these two hundred names. They are all our guests, under our control, and one of them was a name that Mr. Putin insisted on. We have sent this name to Russia. As of now, we are continuing this process decisively. We also take care of our guests.”
“THEY ARE FOLLOWING US AS A WAGON FROM BEHIND”
To a question about Greece’s establishment of a communication directorate, President Erdoğan said, “Does he have a communication directorate and we don’t? Our communication directorate is much stronger, it has established a much stronger communication network with the world at this point. They follow us as a wagon from behind.”
Regarding the meeting to be held with the economic staff and the MIR system belonging to Russia, Erdoğan said, “It would not be right if you explain here what we will discuss. Now, we will hopefully discuss all of these in the meeting we will start a little later. Of course, this is not just a MIR card issue. What do we have as an alternative to this? We will dwell on these. What can we do? What steps can we take? We will continue this work by focusing on these.”
“WHY IS HIS PROBLEM HOLDING US BACK?”
Regarding the common candidate of the table of 6, President Erdoğan said, “Friends, that is not our problem. That is their problem. Why should his problem hold us back? We are minding our business. As of now, the republic alliance continues on its way decisively on this issue. They continue on their way undecidedly. This is the difference between us.”

Speaking about his visit to Centralpark during his visit to the USA, Erdoğan said, “I will call them friends from different countries, different places of the world who came to us in the park. All of them showed their favor towards us with different approaches, different questions, which I did not expect. This of course made us really happy. This means that we have serious fans in the world. We have people who look at us positively. This is very important in terms of showing how far Turkey has come and what kind of position it has taken.”
