Facebook and Instagram are getting new paid features!

Meta is reportedly setting up an organizational team to identify and create new paid features on Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp

Meta is reportedly setting up an organizational team to identify and build new paid features across Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. We can say that the new department is Meta’s first serious step towards creating paid features on its apps, all three of which have billions of users.

Meta aims to increase its earnings with new features

Meta has decided to introduce this practice in the wake of a major drop in advertising revenue. The department, called New Monetization Experiences, will be led by Pratiti Raychoudhury, who was previously Meta’s head of research.

John Hegeman, vice president of the New Monetization Experiences group, says the company is committed to growing its advertising business. Hegeman said, however, that there is no such thing as users paying to turn off ads in apps.

Meta plans to introduce new features in its social media apps that users will be willing and excited to pay for. There is no clear information about these features yet. Almost all of Meta’s revenue comes from advertising. While the company already offers a few paid features in its apps, it hasn’t made it a priority for users to pay for them.

Meta doesn’t expect the new features to be an immediate success. However, in the long run, the new paid features are expected to be widely used on platforms such as Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp. Meta believes that in 5 years, new paid features will take a very different turn.

Meta currently offers some paid content on Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram. Meta offers the virtual star system on Facebook and charges a fee to companies that send messages to their customers on WhatsApp. The company has also introduced a subscription fee plan for exclusive content on Instagram.

Meta is not alone with its new paid content. Apps like TikTok, Twitter, Snapchat and Telegram are starting to offer similar systems. So what do you think about the paid features that will be offered on Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp? You can share your opinions with us in the comments section.
