German Justice Minister Marco Buschmann stated that new measures will be taken across the country to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and announced that the mask requirement will be brought back in the fall.
Buschmann said that the fall and winter months should be taken seriously and that the new measures and restrictions will be completed by the end of July.
Minister Buschmann said that they are working to bring back the mask requirement in public transportation in indoor public spaces, saying, “The effectiveness of masks for those indoors is indisputable. We are currently continuing our work on the mask requirement in public transportation.”
The minister said there would be no return to lockdowns, school closures or curfews.
