At an event attended by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, at least 9 women were reportedly given ‘rape pills’. SPD officials reacted to the situation… Berlin police are also investigating the incident.
At least nine women were allegedly given ‘rape pills’ at the Social Democratic Party’s (SPD) traditional summer party in Germany, attended by Chancellor Olaf Scholz and around 1,000 people.
PARTY LEADERS REACTED
“It makes me angry that something like this could happen at an event organized by the SPD,” SPD Co-Chairman Lars Klingbeil told Die Welt newspaper. Klingbeil called for an investigation into those responsible.
“I advise everyone involved to file a complaint,” Katja Mast of the SPD said on Twitter.
POLICE INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY
Berlin police said they were investigating allegations after a 21-year-old woman filed a complaint after a ‘summer party of a political party’.
In the statement, the woman who filed the complaint was quoted as saying that she ‘did not remember the party the next day’. She told police that she felt nauseous and dizzy after consuming food and soft drinks during the event. Police said they were aware of four cases so far.
