Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that the dialogue in the normalization process between Turkey and Armenia is progressing positively. Speaking to Al Jazeera, Pashinyan expressed hope for the opening of the border with Turkey, which has been closed for 30 years.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan spoke to Qatar-based Al Jazeera television about the latest developments in the normalization process between Turkey and Armenia.
Answering the question “What is the way to normalize relations between Ankara and Yerevan?”, Pashinyan reminded that dialogue was initiated between the two countries through special representatives. “The dialogue is very positive, we hope that we will achieve concrete results,” he said.
The Armenian Prime Minister expressed hope that the border, which has been closed for 30 years, could be opened.
Border commission with Azerbaijan
Nikol Pashinyan also touched upon his country’s relations with Azerbaijan. He said that they have established a border commission between the two countries.
“We hope that with the support of our international partners and as a result of our direct work, we will be able to define our borders.”
