In the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, arms shipments to the Kiev administration continue to be hampered by various obstacles. Switzerland, which had previously vetoed Germany’s request for shipments, finally vetoed Denmark’s request to this effect.
As the Russian-Ukrainian war continues, the Swiss government announces a new decision.
The Swiss Secretariat of State for Economic Affairs (SECO) said in a statement that Denmark’s proposal to send about 20 Piranha III personnel carriers to Ukraine was vetoed.
PERMISSION STIPULATED
It is learned that Switzerland rejected this request on the grounds of impartiality policy, while Switzerland stipulated that countries that buy weapons produced by Switzerland should ask for permission to re-export them.
Last April, Switzerland denied approval to Germany’s request to send Swiss-made ammunition used in anti-aircraft tanks to Ukraine.
ACCEPTED SANCTIONS BUT DOES NOT SEND WEAPONS
It also rejected Poland’s request to send Swiss-made weapons to Ukraine.
