CD Projekt revokes license of The Witcher school
The school, which has similar trainings to those in the Witcher world such as fencing, leather craftsmanship and magic symbols, first opened in 2016 and ran its work under license from CD Projekt Red. But it turned out that the developer unilaterally canceled the license agreement.
While it has not yet been officially explained why the school was closed, a lawyer working at the company has been linked to the ultra-conservative Catholic organization Ordo Iuris. This is due to the fact that 5 Żywiołów, who took over the management of the school; it raised the question of whether she was against gender equality, abortion and LGBTQ.
Ania Wawrzyniak, who was identified as working with the ultra-conservative organization Ordo Iuris, was found to have been active in the company for two years. It is learned that Ania was also the wife of Dastin Wawrzyniak, the founder of 5 Żywiołów.
Ania Wawrzyniak, who participated in some of the propaganda of the Ordo Iuris organization, caused suspicions in the training at The Witcher school. Among the propaganda, there were issues such as “anti-Covid-19 anti-vaccination” and “bill punishing abortion”.
The propaganda allegations first surfaced in February and soon resonated in Poland. Polish media blamed CD Projekt for political concerns and demanded the closure of the school belonging to 5 Żywiołów. The media pointed out that activities at the school can be dangerous.
CD Project Red, which made statements to Euro Gamer on the subject, confirmed that the school was closed. But 5 Żywiołów struggles to continue his Witcher school without a license from CD Projekt Red.
