The World Health Organization (WHO) announced that the monkeypox virus has been seen in 11 countries in Europe, America and Australia, there are about 80 confirmed cases of monkeypox, and 50 more cases in 11 countries are under review and verification.
Authorities in Australia, France and Germany announced the emergence of the first cases of monkeypox on Friday. In addition to these countries, cases of monkeypox have also been reported in Belgium, the United States, the United Kingdom, Spain and Portugal.
The World Health Organization noted that monkeypox virus has become common in Nigeria in recent years. Since 2017, a total of 558 suspected cases have been identified in Nigeria, of which 241 have been confirmed and eight have died.
