Russia drills with Yars missile systems in Ivanovo region

The Russian Defense Ministry announced that the soldiers were performing missions related to Yars missile systems during an exercise by the Russian Strategic Missile Forces in the Ivanovo region.

During the exercise conducted by the Russian Strategic Missile Forces in the Ivanovo region, the soldiers carried out tasks related to changing the position of Yars missile systems on the ground, the ministry said in a statement.

“About 1,000 soldiers participated in the exercise, over 100 equipment were deployed,” the statement said.
“The autonomous launchers of the Yars strategic missile systems of the Teykovskiy missile unit (Ivanovo region) changed their position on the ground while performing their duties on combat patrol routes.”
On January 25th, the ministry announced the deployment of Yars mobile systems on patrol routes as part of an exercise in the Ivanovo region.

On February 2nd, it was reported that the Yars missile battalion was conducting field drills in the Sverdlovsk region, and that the soldiers were carrying out missions to counter the relative saboteurs.

The Russian Strategic Missile Forces are the main component of Russia’s strategic nuclear forces and have been developed for the nuclear deterrent of a possible attack.
