A man changed gender to retire early

A man in Switzerland has been granted early retirement by declaring she is a woman thanks to a loophole in new gender reassignment legislation introduced.

Under the new law, which applies to citizens aged 16 and over in Switzerland, citizens who want to apply to the population directorate in person from January 1st have been able to legally change their gender.
In addition, no hormone therapy, medical diagnosis, further evaluation or bureaucratic steps are required for this procedure.

It turned out that a man who took advantage of the loophole in this law declared that he was a woman and changed his gender on paper so that he could retire early.

A man from the central German-speaking canton of Luzern has reached retirement a year early after registering as a woman, local Newspaper Luzerner Zeitung reported.

The sex change took place only on paper, and the man confirmed to his family and friends that it was only to speed up retirement.
Meanwhile, no action has yet been taken by the authorities to challenge the change.
The news also sparked controversy over the problems caused by facilitating the country’s gender reassignment process.
