Industrial production in EU exceeds expectations in January
The European Statistical Office (Eurostat) announced January industrial production data in the EU and Euro Area.
Accordingly, industrial production in the 19-member Euro Zone increased by 0.7 percent in January compared to the previous month and by 0.1 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.

In the EU, industrial production rose 0.8 percent in January compared to December, while it increased 0.3 percent compared to the same period of 2019.
In the period in question, the highest increase in monthly industrial production among EU countries was in Luxembourg with 3.8 percent, France and Greece with 3.4 percent and Belgium with 3.1 percent.
The highest decline in industrial production was seen in Estonia and Lithuania with 1.5 percent, Belgium with 1.7 percent and Spain with 0.7 percent.
