EU wants to reduce the impact of Brexit on young people

According to a written statement from the EU Commission, the Commission has proposed to the European Council to launch negotiations to increase mobility between young people in the UK and EU countries, which has declined after Brexit.

If the proposal is adopted by the Council, the Commission will be authorized to open negotiations with the UK on youth mobility.

This will make it easier for young people in EU countries to study, work and reside in the UK and for young people in the UK to study, work and reside in the EU.

Under the proposed deal, EU and UK citizens aged 18 to 30 will be able to stay in the destination country for up to 4 years.

Speaking to the press at the end of the two-day EU summit in Brussels, EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said that there are many areas that can be worked with the UK after Brexit, and youth mobility is one of them.

“The issue of youth mobility is in the interest of both the EU and the UK,” said von der Leyen.
