Apple is finally ready to unleash its full potential in the field of artificial intelligence.
During Apple’s “earnings call” on Thursday, where Apple shared its recent financials, Apple CEO Tim Cook said the company will make an announcement on AI in 2024.
Cook continued: “Looking ahead, we will continue to invest in these and other technologies that are shaping our future. This includes artificial intelligence, where we continue to invest significant time and effort. We’re excited to share details of our ongoing work in this area later this year.”
As is typical for Cook, he was very careful not to reveal anything, and there is not the slightest detail in his remarks. However, Cook admitted that he was talking about a productive AI, most commonly known as OpenAI’s very smart assistant, an analog of ChatGPT.
“Without going into more detail, let me say that there are huge opportunities for Apple related to manufacturer AI and AI,” Cook said.
Cook’s statements confirm Bloomberg’s report. That report said that the upcoming iOS 18 would be one of the biggest iOS updates in the company’s history. The update is expected to be unveiled at Apple’s World Developers Conference – WWDC, which is likely to be held in June. It will likely include a smarter Siri, as well as more AI integration into core iOS features like Messages and Apple Music.
Cook’s announcement came just before the launch of a very important product for Apple. The Vision Pro, the company’s first augmented reality / virtual reality headset, hit the market last Friday with a price tag of $3,500.
