Death toll from floods and landslides in Brazil rises to 50

In the state of Sao Paulo in Brazil, the number of people killed in floods and landslides caused by heavy rains increased to 50.

In a statement made by Sao Paulo state authorities, it was reported that the number of deaths in flood disasters that have been effective since 18 February has risen to 50.

In the state where search and rescue operations continue, it was stated that 1815 people were left homeless in floods and landslides.

Although the figures are not exact, it was noted that efforts are continuing for more than 30 missing people.

It was shared that a budget was transferred from the central government for aid activities in the region where the connection was provided with difficulty due to the damage of communication lines.

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva visited the disaster zone on 21 February and made an aerial inspection by helicopter.
