The controversial ending of the movie Titanic is coming to a close: Jack has to die

James Cameron, the director of Titanic, announced that they are conducting scientific studies to put an end to the controversy surrounding the movie’s finale. According to Cameron’s statement, the death of the character Jack, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, was inevitable.

Jack and Rose, the characters of the movie Titanic, fell into the water after the ship sank, and Jack lifted Rose onto a door that broke off the ship. Rose survived, but Jack died in the freezing cold.
The movie’s legendary final scene has sparked a debate for more than 20 years.

“Jack could have survived if he had stood on the door…”

Many images have shown that the door was big enough to hold both of them. Even jokes were shared on social media making fun of the issue.

But the director hopes to put a definitive end to speculation that Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) could have survived the sinking of the famous ocean liner.

Cameron said he is conducting a “forensic” study to show that the door cannot support both.

“We did a scientific study to put this whole thing to rest and put an end to the debate,” he told The Toronto Sun.

“We used two doubles that had the same body mass as Kate and Leo and we put sensors all over them. We put them in ice water and tested whether they could have survived by various methods and the answer was that there was no way either of them could have survived. One of them had to die.”

The results of the scientific study will be shared in Titanic’s 25th anniversary special documentary.
