The Russian government announced that Russia and Saudi Arabia remain strongly committed to the agreement between the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and the OPEC+ group of non-OPEC oil producing countries.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak met with Saudi Arabia’s Energy Minister Abdulaziz bin Salman, the Russian government said in a written statement.
Novak and Salman discussed trade and economic issues between the two countries, the statement said: “They also discussed the situation in the global oil market. It was emphasized that Russia and Saudi Arabia are strongly committed to the goal of maintaining market stability and restoring the supply-demand balance under the OPEC+ agreement.”
