WhatsApp is constantly testing new features for users, and according to recent observations, the messaging platform is testing two new features, including a new sticker for missed calls and a redesigned location label. The first one is being tested for iOS, while the second one is being tested for Android.
New features for WhatsApp detected
Starting with the new tag for missed calls, WhatsApp has tested support for a new iOS 15 API that displays a “Silenced by Do Not Disturb” tag for certain missed WhatsApp calls. The tag will appear in WhatsApp’s call history for user-missed calls when Do Not Disturb mode is enabled for iOS devices.
For example, if your iPhone is set to Do Not Disturb mode for certain locations or time zones, some of your WhatsApp calls will be automatically silenced during this time, and then the new label will appear in the call history section in WhatsApp.
But it’s worth noting that you must be running iOS 15 or later on your iPhone to get the feature.
Apart from that, WhatsApp is testing a redesigned location tag for Android. Now, there will be a new position label with a new location icon colored green in the drawing editor menu. You can preview the new location label in the image attached below.
As for the availability of WhatsApp features, the new Do Not Disturb sticker for missed calls is currently available in the iOS WhatsApp beta on Testflight. As for the new location tag on Android, it is currently available to certain WhatsApp beta testers on Android. More beta testers are expected to get it in the coming weeks.
