The Twitter account of Dutch far-right leader Geert Wilders was suspended due to his words about Islam and his message to Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
The Freedom Party (PVV) leader told Dutch public broadcaster NOS that Twitter notified him that his account was suspended for ‘breaking the rules on hate speech’.
Last Tuesday, Twitter deleted Wilder’s tweet in which he responded to Sharif’s condemnation of Islamophobia in Europe.
Wilders, who has been under police protection since 2004 after receiving death threats, is an anti-Islam and anti-immigration voice in the Netherlands.
The right-wing leader actively uses his Twitter account to attack Islamists and asylum seekers.
