The Russia-Ukraine crisis has been feared in the days-long invasion attempt. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced earlier this morning that they had launched a special military operation in Donbas, eastern Ukraine. Russian troops soon launched an aerial assault on critical ukrainian military centers.

Ukraine says it has shot down two Russian helicopters and taken two Russian soldiers hostage. The Russian soldier reportedly entered Kiev, while Ukraine’s Melitopol Air Base was bombed.

Flames rose in the garden of the intelligence building in Kiev, Ukraine.

Images on Ukrainian local media and social media show tons of documents being burned in front of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry.

In the video shared by Al Jazeera, a group of soldiers throw sacks of paper into the fire and destroy it.
