ames Bond producer: Idris Elba could be the next 007

Barbara Broccoli, along with her brother Michael G. Wilson, produced the last nine Bond films, including Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall and Spectre.

Daniel Craig has played the iconic role since 2006. Craig said goodbye to the character with No Time To Die, which premiered on October 1, 2021.

Idris Elba has long been a strong contender to take over the role. The 49-year-old has appeared in several Hollywood films, including Concrete Cowboy, Pacific War and Thor: Ragnarok.

Appearing on Deadline’s Crew Call podcast, Broccoli addressed speculation about who the next Bond would be and said many fans wanted to see Idris Elba as 007.

The 61-year-old famous producer used the following statements:

“We’re friends with him, and he’s a great actor.”
“We know Idris, we’re friends with him, and he’s an amazing actor. And, you know, it was part of the discussion, but it’s always hard to talk about it when there’s someone on the couch.”

Broccoli said they decided not to raise the issue until Craig said goodbye to his role.

If elba is given the role, it will be the 7th studio act, behind actor Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig. It’s Bond.
