France to send 'hundreds' of second-hand armored vehicles to Ukraine

French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu made statements on the military aid package to Ukraine.

Announcing that France will send hundreds of armored vehicles to Ukraine, Lecornu emphasized the importance of the vehicles for Ukraine’s ability to have a wide front line and the mobility of its troops.

France increased the number of Caesar artillery systems produced per month from 6 to 12.

Noting that the French army is replacing the VAB armored vehicles that have been in use for more than 40 years with new generation vehicles, Lecornu said that the old armored vehicles and Aster-type missiles that are still functional will be sent to Ukraine until the beginning of 2025.

Lecornu also stated that “there is an urgent situation regarding Ukraine’s air defense against Russia”.

French Defense Minister Lecornu announced yesterday that they will increase the number of Caesar artillery systems produced per month from 6 to 12, provide Ukraine with 78 Caesars in the near term and increase the supply of ammunition.
