Release Date of New iPad Models Postponed Once Again

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman suggested that Apple will unveil the new iPad models in May. The devices were initially rumored to be unveiled in March, then in April.

Apple introduced the MacBook Air with the M3 processor in an online announcement earlier this month. All sources speculated that the company would introduce new iPads in addition to the MacBook. However, these devices did not arrive in early March as expected. Then Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman shared that the new iPads were postponed to early April. However, today’s news showed that they will not arrive in early April either.

Gurman, who is known for his accurate news about Apple, stated in his new article that Apple pushed the new iPad Air and Pro models to the next month. In other words, if there is no change once again, the devices will meet us in early May.

Apple’s push to finalize software on devices and use of OLED displays cause delay

According to Gurman, Apple’s suppliers are currently ramping up production of the new iPads. This makes an early May release more likely. The company has also allegedly given up on April because it is still finalizing the software for the new devices.

In addition, the use of a brand new panel also contributed to the delay. It is stated that the OLED screen we will see in Pro goes through “complex production techniques”.

What can we expect from the new iPad models?

The new iPad models will bring many innovations. We will see an OLED screen in the Pro model. In other words, a first will be achieved. This screen will bring many innovations such as better refresh rate, low power consumption, improved contrast, higher brightness, thinner design. It is also rumored that new M3 chips will be included in the device. So we will also see an improvement in performance.

Last refreshed in 2022, iPad Air devices will finally be updated. Apple is expected to offer the new iPad Airs in two sizes. These will be the standard 10.9-inch and a new larger 12.9-inch version. We also expect changes to the camera, an M2 or M3 processor (most likely M2), Bluetooth and Wi-Fi improvements. On the design side, we don’t think there will be any major changes.
