A joint New York Times/Siena College poll has revealed the state of play between the Democratic and Republican presidential candidates.
Forty-three percent of voters surveyed nationally said they would vote for Biden on November 5, compared to 48 percent who said they would vote for Trump.
83 percent of those who voted for Biden in the 2020 presidential election said they would support the same candidate for a second time in November, while 97 percent of those who voted for Trump in the same year said they would vote for him again.
Forty-seven percent of respondents strongly disapproved of the way Biden was “handling his job” and one out of every four respondents said they thought the country was going in the wrong direction.
In a poll conducted by NYT and Sienna last year with the same questions, Trump was 2 points ahead of Biden among registered voters, but in terms of “Electoral College” delegates, Biden surpassed Trump by 2 points.
It was reported that 980 randomly selected registered voters from both parties participated in the national survey conducted on February 25-28.
