Star Trek Actor Kenneth Mitchell Dies at 49

Beloved actor Kenneth Mitchell, best known for his roles in “Star Trek: Discovery” and “Captain Marvel” and husband of “Center Stage” actress Susan May Pratt, has died.

Mitchell died on February 24 in Los Angeles at the age of 49 after a long battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Mitchell, who is mourned by his family and loved ones, leaves behind his wife, 16-year-old daughter Lilah, 11-year-old son Kallum, his parents, brother and other family members.

Mitchell’s death has caused great sadness in the “Star Trek” and acting community. Fellow actors and fans posted messages on social media praising Mitchell’s talent, kindness and humor.

“Kenneth was an incredibly talented and generous actor,” said Alex Kurtzman, one of the directors who worked closely with him. “It was a pleasure to work with him and his loss will be deeply felt.”

Mitchell’s “Star Trek: Discovery”, Sonequa Martin-Green wrote, “Kenneth’s positive energy and smile will never be forgotten.”

The family has asked that donations in Mitchell’s memory be made to an organization that works for the benefit of ALS patients.
