Both Netflix and rival streaming platforms want to find the next Squid Game as soon as possible.
Created by Hwang Dong-hyuk, its main competitors include the Japanese series Alice in Borderland.
The series, which premiered before Squid Game, is currently preparing for its third season.
Another example of Squid Game’s competitors is the zombie series All of Us Are Dead.
However, ScreenRant reports that Squid Game’s biggest competitor will be released a few months later.

The 8 Show is a new Korean drama adapted by director Han Jae-rim from Bae Jin-soo’s internet comics Money Game and Pie Game.
The series, which will premiere on Netflix in the second quarter of 2024, will tell the story of 8 people who participate in a competition where they will compete for a cash prize.
While the show’s story about “people competing for money” immediately brings to mind Squid Game, it’s worth noting that the web comic The 8 Show is based on was published in 2018.
