Born in 1907, Maraa Branyas Morera entered the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s oldest person after the death of 118-year-old Lucille Randon.
Maria Branyas Morera lived through two world wars. She saw the Spanish civil war and survived the 1918 flu pandemic and the 2020 coronavirus pandemic.
The California-born Spanish woman is now the world’s oldest living person.
The 115-year-old Morera, confirmed by the Guinness Book of World Records website last week, became the oldest known living person after the death of 118-year-old Lucille Randon.
Randon died on January 17 at a nursing home in Toulon, France.
According to the Guinness website, Morera says that the secret to long life is “order, peace, good ties with family and friends, contact with nature, emotional stability, avoiding worry and regret, too much positivity and avoiding toxic people.”
