Following his departure from DC as Superman, Henry Cavill will not be returning to 'The Witcher

Liam Hemsworth’s name began trending on Twitter shortly after Henry Cavill stated Wednesday night that he “will, after all, not be returning as Superman,” with The Witcher fans demanding for Cavill’s return to the Netflix series.

Wishful thinking, since the Superman development will have an impact on Season 4 of Netflix’s fantasy series, which will star Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia, according to Deadline.

Six weeks ago, Netflix shocked The Witcher fans by announcing that the show had gotten an early Season 4 renewal, with Hemsworth replacing Cavill.

According to accounts, Cavill’s departure was mutual and voluntary. Following his Black Adam cameo, he hinted at a possible comeback as Superman.

Fans must now bid farewell to the beloved actor in two trademark roles at the same time, which is likely what sparked the outsized reaction and internet effort to bring him back on The Witcher.

Cavill has moved on and has numerous other projects in the works, so he won’t be missing from the screen for long.
