Antonio Banderas, star of the masked hero Zorro, commented on the future of his iconic character.
Speaking to ComicBook.com, the famous actor was asked if he would like to play Zorro again.
The famous actor replied, “Yes, I would look into that possibility, why not?” and continued:
“I would like to do what Anthony Hopkins did in the first movie. To be in the same movie with someone and pass the torch to them.
When asked who he would like to see in this role, Banderas answered without hesitation:
Tom Holland. We worked together on Uncharted, he’s very energetic, fun and he has that spark.
The actor brought the famous comic book character to life in 1998’s The Mask of Zorro and 2005’s The Legend of Zorro.
Banderas has previously spoken of his desire to return to the role of Zorro.
In 2019, it was reported that famed director Quentin Tarantino would follow up Django Unchained with an adaptation of his comic book Django/Zorro.
Banderas also said that Tarantino came to him for the project and that he was positive about the movie.
On the other hand, the movie in question was never brought up again.
