Ukraine: Russian army attacks Odessa with Iranian kamikaze drones

1 min read

Two days after two civilians were killed in a Russian attack in Ukraine using Iranian armed unmanned aerial vehicles (UCAVs), Ukraine reported that Russia has started using Iranian kamikaze drones more frequently.

“Russia has again attacked Odessa with kamikaze drones. The enemy targeted the administrative building in the city center three times. The Ukrainian air defense system shot down one of them.”

Southern Command spokeswoman Natalia Humeniuk told AFP that the attack was carried out by Iranian kamikaze drones.

Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry has canceled the accreditation of Iran’s ambassador to Kiev and reduced the number of diplomatic staff at the embassy over arms supplies to Russia.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s spokesman Sergiy Nikiforov emphasized that the Iranian weapons are Tehran’s steps against the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as the lives of Ukrainian citizens.
