Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) announced that the assassination of Darya Dugina, the daughter of Russian political expert Aleksandr Dugin, was carried out by Ukrainian citizen Natalia Vovk, who fled to Estonia after the incident.

The FSB said in a statement today that Ukrainian intelligence was behind the assassination and that Natalia Vovk, born in 1979, arrived in Russia on July 23 with her daughter Sofia Saban, born in 2010.

“On the day of the assassination, Vovk and Sofia attended the ‘Tradition’ festival where Dugina was the guest of honor,” the statement said, adding that Vovk rented an apartment in Moscow with her daughter to gather information.

It was also stated that Vovk and his daughter fled to Estonia via Pskov on August 21 after the assassination.
