Marvel's president spoke about how the post-credits scenes will tie into the new Avengers movies

“We don’t want them all connected to the same place”

Marvel Studios president Kevin Peige spoke at a panel at Comic-Con in San Diego on Saturday (July 23) about how the end credits scenes from Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will tie into Avengers 5 and Avengers 6.

While not an invention of Marvel, end credits sequels have become a trademark of the production company. The end credits scenes, which are even used in some Marvel TV series, often give an idea of what’s coming next.

Known as the 4th phase, it was also a matter of curiosity where the end credits scenes in Marvel’s movies made since 2019 would connect.

Feige said that not all the scenes will tie into future movies, but the titles Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars, the 5th and 6th movies of the series will be meticulously prepared with these scenes in mind.

Feige made the following statements:

“The truth is, not all of the scenes are indicative of what’s to come. Whether it’s the scene where the Avengers get smacked or Captain America says, ‘You have to learn patience, sometimes you wait for things that aren’t worth it,’ all of those scenes were really fun for us. We don’t want them all to feel the same, to go to the same place. Some of them will connect, some of them won’t.

Feige went on to say that there should be independent stories as well as interconnected stories:

“Just like the productions that merge and evolve into a big story, we need introductory works like Ms. Marvel. Marvel, but we also need introductory works like Ms. Marvel. Most of what we’ve done so far has been building a big story, and the new Avengers movies will be one of those.

In the 4th universe of the MSE, post-credits scenes have been used many times to introduce characters in future movies. Whether it’s Charlize Theron’s Clea arriving at the end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness or Brett Brett in Thor: Love and Thunder, or Brett Goldstein’s appearance as Hercules.

But MSE didn’t just use end credits scenes to introduce new characters. Most of these scenes remained for entertainment purposes.

Phase 4 of the MSE will end with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever on November 11, 2022, and Phase 5 will begin with Antman in February 2023.
