Putin said, “The EU has lost its political sovereignty. The real interests of the people in Europe have been sidelined. This will lead to radicalism and a change of elites in the region.”
Speaking at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia was not responsible for rising food prices globally. Putin accused the US of raising food prices by printing money.
Putin said that Russia is ready to increase grain and fertilizer exports and that Russia will provide food aid to Africa and the Middle East.
However, the Russian President announced that food aid will be provided to Europe and the Middle East. Putin said, “We are ready for dialogue on food supplies. We are not blocking Ukraine’s food exports,” he said, noting that the problem is not for today and Russia cannot be held responsible for it.
The Russian President also stated that Russia’s decision to launch a “special military operation” in Ukraine was a difficult process. He said that Russia’s military operation was in defense of the people of Donbas.
“All tasks of the special military operation in Ukraine will be realized. Our troops are defending Russia’s rights to safe development,” Putin said.
Putin also emphasized that Russia will continue to develop as an open economy.
