Apple TV will broadcast MLS matches for 10 years!
Since the MLS rights acquired by Apple TV include cup matches, viewers in Mexico will have to watch these matches through the organization that acquired the broadcasting rights in their country. However, it is stated that there is no such problem in the rest of the world.
In addition, people who want to watch all the matches available here will need to subscribe to a new streaming service that will only be available through Apple TV. No pricing has been announced at this time. But TV+ users will be able to benefit completely free of charge.
It is stated that Apple will pay at least 250 million dollars to MLS each year in exchange for this deal. In other words, an amount of at least 2.5 billion dollars will be paid within the 10-year agreement. Of course, let’s say that additional services such as some games and documentaries are also included in this deal.
Making a statement on the subject, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Services Eddy Cue said the following:
“For the first time in sports history, fans will have access to everything from a major professional sports league in one place. It’s a dream come true for MLS fans, soccer fans and everyone who loves sports. No fragmentation, no disappointment. Just the flexibility to sign up for a convenient service that gives you everything MLS, wherever and whenever you want.
