The wreckage of the plane carrying 22 people in Nepal, which disappeared from radar shortly after take-off yesterday, has been found. The bodies of 14 people were recovered.
Search and rescue efforts launched in Nepal yesterday after a Tara Air plane lost contact with the tower shortly after takeoff recovered the wreckage of the plane and the bodies of 14 people.
A statement by Nepal’s military spokesman said the plane with 22 people on board crashed into the Mustang region in northern Nepal.
SEARCH OPERATIONS SUSPENDED
After search and rescue operations resumed today due to bad weather, Tribhuvan International Airport spokesman Tek Raj Sitaula said: “Search operations for others are continuing.” It is not known whether there were any survivors after the accident.
The plane from Nepal’s tourist city of Pokhara to the town of Jomsom in the west of the country was reported missing. It was announced that 4 of the 22 people on the plane were Indian, 2 German and 16 Nepalese.
