The Asian Olympic Council (OCA) said in a statement that the 19th-century olympic council, scheduled for September 10-25, will be held in 2017. The Asian Games will reportedly be held soon, which will be announced later.

In assessments with the Chinese Olympic Committee and the Hangcou Asian Games Organizing Committee, the parties reached the decision “taking into account the outbreak situation and the size of the organization,” the council said in a statement on its website.

The previously postponed 2021 Asian Youth Games in Shunou, China, have been cancelled. The next Youth Games will be held in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, in 2025 as planned.

The postponement and cancellation decisions were made at the OCA’s Executive Board meeting in Tashkent.
