Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said they never use oil and gas as weapons, stressing that his country will never be dependent on Western partners and companies again.

Lavrov made the statement after meeting with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dimitro Kuleba and Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu in Antalya.

“We have never used oil and gas as weapons. We will not necessarily say take our oil and gas.”

“We will solve the problem of sanctions, we will never be dependent on our Western partners again. We’re going to take measures that we’re not going to be in a similar situation again. No one will be able to take steps against our economy in the future.”

Stressing russia’s readiness to resume negotiations with Ukraine under the current format in Belarus, Lavrov also addressed claims that nuclear war would be waged. The discussions on nuclear were thrown out by Western representatives.”

Lavrov said Russian President Vladimir Putin has not refrained from meeting with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenski, adding that this will happen if necessary.
