43-year-old woman: I was harassed by male avatars at Metaverse

A woman living in the UK has claimed she was abused by a group of male avatars in the Metaverse universe. “I’ve been worried ever since,” the 43-year-old said, while the company issued a statement.

Britain’s Nina Jane Patel, who created her own avatar on horizon venues, said she was sexually harassed in the lobby, which is considered an ‘entry point’ into the Metaverse universe.

The 43-year-old said that after entering the lobby, male avatars began touching her and struggled to escape the abuse. Patel added that avatars take screenshots for minutes.

The London-based woman told the Daily Mail on Sunday: “I need to break my virtual reality (VR) glasses to put an end to this ordeal. Since then, I’ve been worried.”

A Meta spokesman said in a statement: “We are very sorry that this incident occurred. Horizon Venues must be safe. We’re going to stick to our word on this. We will take tougher steps to prevent the problem by making improvements to it.”
A Meta spokesman said Patel did not use the platform’s reporting tools. Addressing the importance of reporting, the spokesman said the tools allow users to block people they complain to, mute their voices and report them to the system.

The ancient idea tries to provide the most accurate information to its readers in all the content it publishes.
