The number of people leaving their jobs in the USA is 4.5 million in November 2021. That’s an all-time high.

The U.S. Department of Labor has announced the JOLTS Vacancies data for November 2021. The number of vacant jobs in the country decreased by 529 thousand in November compared to the previous month and decreased to 10 million 562 thousand.

Contrary to expectations, the number of vacant jobs, which decreased in this period, was expected to be 11 million 75 thousand.

The number of open jobs was 11 million 91 thousand in October 2021.

The sectors in which the number of vacant jobs decreased the most were accommodation and food services, construction, and the production of non-durable goods. The number of job vacancies increased in the finance and insurance and federal government sectors.

The number of recruitment increased by 191 thousand in November and reached 6 million 697 thousand.

The number of people who were laid off or quit their jobs in the country increased by 382 thousand in November and reached 6 million 273 thousand.

In this period, the number of people who left their jobs voluntarily increased by 370 thousand people compared to the previous month and reached an all-time high with 4.5 million. In September 2021, a record number of people left their jobs with 4.4 million in the USA.

The dropout rate in the country rose to 3 percent in November.

The sectors with the highest increase in the number of people who quit their jobs during the said period were accommodation and food services, health and social assistance, and transportation and storage.
