Roscosmos sets date for first manned flight of the year
Russia’s space agency Roscosmos announced that the first manned flight of the year to Earth’s orbit will take place on March 18. In 2022, there will be two manned flights to orbit with the Russian Soyuz vehicle.
According to the statement of Roscosmos officials, two manned flights to Earth’s orbit are planned this year. The first of these flights will be carried out with the Soyuz MS-21 vehicle, which will be launched on March 18 at 18:55 Moscow time
With the Soyuz vehicle in question, cosmonauts Oleg Artemyev, Denis Matveyev and Sergey Korsakov will be sent to the International Space Station (ISS). The flight is expected to take three hours.
The next manned flight into space is scheduled to begin on September 21 at 16:54 Moscow time.

The only woman in the Russian space crew will also go to the ISS this year.
In addition, it was stated that in line with the flight agreement with the USA, female cosmonaut Anna Kikina is planned to fly to the ISS with the Crew Dragon spacecraft in September or October. Kikina is currently the only woman in the Russian cosmonaut team.
The first spacewalk of the year will take place in January
According to the statements of Roscosmos, Russian cosmonauts Anton Shkaplerov and Pyotr Dubrov, who are currently aboard the ISS, are also scheduled to perform their first spacewalk of this year on January 19. The spacewalk, which means that the cosmonauts will go out of the station, will be carried out with the aim of mounting a new module called Priçal to the station.

36 satellites to be launched into orbit in March
Roscomos officials also said that a Soyuz-2.1b rocket is planned to be launched from Baikonur Cosmodrome on March 5 to place 36 satellites belonging to British technology company Oneweb into space. Previously, the launch was expected to take place in January.
