The European Parliament will hold an extraordinary plenary meeting between 25 December and 31 December to discuss a possible trade agreement between the UK and the union, which left the European Union (EU), Politico reports.

While it is estimated that the meeting will most likely be held on December 289 and thus the EU plans to have the last word in trade talks, officials close to the subject state that the meeting will be held if an agreement is reached between the parties.

In the past weeks, it was announced that 95 percent of the trade agreement between the parties was completed, and the UK finance minister Rishi Sunak said that there were important developments in the negotiations.
