What is the Solar System and where is it 1

The Solar System consists of eight planets under the influence of the Sun and gravitation, with their 150 known moons, five dwarf planets (Ceres, Pluto, Eris, Haumea, Makemake), their 8 known satellites and billions of small celestial bodies. Small objects include asteroids, Kuiper belt objects, comets, meteorites, and interplanetary dust.

Will Our Family’s Past Destroy Our Lives?

Solar system; The Sun consists of four Earth-like inner planets, an asteroid belt of small, rock and metal-containing asteroids, four giant exoplanets, and a second belt of icy bodies called the Kuiper belt. Beyond the Kuiper belt is the sparse disk, the heliopause, and finally the hypothetical Oort cloud.

Planets according to their distance from the Sun are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune respectively. Natural satellites orbit around six of these eight planets. In addition, each of the exoplanets has rings of dust and other particles. All non-Earth planets take their names from the gods of Greek and Roman mythology. The five dwarf planets are; Pluto, Haumea and Makemake in the Kuiper belt; Ceres, the largest object in the asteroid belt, and Eris in the sparse disk. Pluto is the largest known dwarf planet.

Structure of the Southern System

The main component of the Solar System is the Sun, which is a G2V-type yellow dwarf, which forms 99.86% of the known mass of the system and is located on the main sequence that holds the gravitational force and the system together. [7] Jupiter and Saturn, the two largest celestial bodies orbiting the Sun, make up more than 90% of the remaining mass of the system.

Most of the large celestial bodies orbiting the sun are located in the plane of the Earth’s orbit called the ecliptic. Planets are located very close to the eclipse, while comets and Kuiper belt celestial bodies make great angles with the ecliptic circle.

All of the planets and most other celestial bodies orbit around the Sun when viewed from a point above the Sun’s north pole, orbiting counterclockwise. However, there are exceptions, such as Halley’s Comet.

Celestial bodies move around the Sun in accordance with Kepler’s laws. Each celestial body moves on an approximately elliptical orbit with the Sun at one of its focal points. Celestial bodies closer to the Sun move faster. The orbits of the planets are almost circular, but many comets, asteroids, and Kuiper belt celestial bodies follow rather narrow elliptical orbits.

Orbits are usually shown at equal distances, despite the difficulty of depicting enormous distances in Solar System representations. In reality, with a few exceptions, the distance a planet or belt from the Sun increases, the greater its distance from the previous orbit. Venus, for example, is 0.33 AU further outside Mercury, while Saturn is 4.3 AU further from Jupiter. Neptune is also 10.5 AU farther from Uranus. There have been some attempts to correlate these orbital distances, such as the Titius-Bode law, but no accepted theory has emerged.
