The number of pensioners in Italy has exceeded the number of people working in the public or private sector.

“In recent years, with the arrival of immigrants, we have managed to produce solutions to many problems in the economically developed regions, namely in the north-east of the country. However, the situation has changed recently, the Covid-19 outbreak has accelerated this trend,” he told Euronews.
Last year, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) announced that Italy and other European Union countries would face a similar situation in 2050.
