“Candy Shop” is a song recorded by American rapper 50 Cent for his second studio album The Massacre. Written by 50 Cent and Scott Storch; The song, produced by Scott Storch, also includes Olivia vocals. “Love Break” samples, which are part of The Salsoul Orchestra, were used in the infrastructure of the piece.

The video clip of “Candy Shop” was shot between 11 and 12 January 2005 in Hollywood, California under the direction of Jessy Terrero.  Olivia, Lil Scrappy and G-Unit members Lloyd Banks and Young Buck also starred in the video clip. In addition, models such as Chessika Cartwright  “Lyric”  and Erica Mena  also played different roles.

The video was nominated for the “Best Male Video” award at the 2005 MTV Video Music Awards, but Kanye West won the award with his “Jesus Walks” video.

On February 2, 2005, the video, which entered the number 9 of MTV’s Total Request Live lists, was included in the list forty-six days. He also climbed to the top of MuchMusic charts.

List achievements

“Candy Shop” entered the American Billboard Hot 100 charts at number 82, reached number one within nine weeks and was on the list for twenty-three days. It has also managed to rise to the top of the Hot R & B / Hip-Hop Songs, Hot Rap Tracks and Rhythmic Top 40 charts. It also rose to 2 on the Pop 100 charts and 5 on the Top 40 Mainstream charts. With its high sales figures in digital format, it was also number one in the Hot Digital Songs list.  In the USA, it was awarded with gold plaque by RIAA.  He was also nominated for an “Best Rap Song” at the 2006 Grammy Awards. however, the award was won by Kanye West’s “Diamonds from Sierra Leone”.

In the European lists; It was number one in Germany, Austria, Belgium and Switzerland and ranked in the top five in the UK, the Netherlands, Ireland and Norway. [11] It has risen to number three on Australian charts , awarded with platinum plaque by ARIA. [15] Australia is number 24 of the 2005 year-end charts. [16] In New Zealand, it reached number two.
